The Great Thing About New Friends

Happy May!!!
Last month has been very busy with writing workshops and an online conference. I am still in the afterglow of Book Lovers Con. Being part of writing events is seeing old friends and making new ones at different workshops. Every time I listen to a new presentation, I come away with a different way of looking at my writing toolbox. The energy and inspiration I get fill my writing well.
Writing is a solitary job; you spend a lot of time alone with your characters, but they keep you company when you are writing. It is so nice to be with others who feel the way I do. Finding my tribe of authors and friends has made my writing blossom and grow. I am entirely grateful for the friendship and support I have received in the last, if you can believe it, nineteen years.
If you are a writer or are thinking of becoming one, I highly recommend doing online or in-person workshops or Conferences. There are online writing groups, such as Chicago North Romance Writers, Pacific Northwest Writers Association, and The Writing Journey. These groups have amazing, talented writers who love teaching and supporting other writers. There are so many others out there. Find your tribe.
Please be safe and take care of yourselves!
Hugs
Kat
