Here's to 2026

Happy New Year!!

I wish you all a wonderful start to this new year. Looking back on last year, I had plenty to be grateful for and a lot of changes in my life. Some changes were for the better, like our new house and my new job.

There were plenty of challenges, too; leaving my friends and co-workers was one of the hardest decisions I had to make. Building a house in an area where we know no one, or the surrounding towns, has, in a way, been a reminder of building our first home 28 years ago. At least then we had two of our four princesses; now it's truly just the two of us. We are now far away from 2 of our Princesses and closer to another Princess. We will always be far from our first Princess since she lives a couple of states away. As our Princesses told us over the holiday, when they were all home, to them, home is where we are.

I am truly blessed to have a wonderful husband, who has patiently built so many pieces of furniture and bookcases in the last month and a half. We have come full circle since the day we said I do. It is just the two of us figuring out what our next steps will be. We have a lot to look forward to this year, including watching our daughters start some new adventures in adulting. Plus, we have our granddaughter, who brings us such joy every day, via FaceTime and videos from her parents.

This year, I did something different in my goal-setting. I followed the cool kids, AKA our Princesses, and made a Bingo card. Canva was very helpful but challenging for someone not tech-savvy. Thank you, Princess #2, for your IT support.

I had fun making the card, and hopefully, I will get some goals crossed off.

One last thing, this has been a very challenging time in our country.
