Exhilarating may

Hello, My Lovely Readers-

May is an exhilarating month. Happy birthday to everyone whose birthday is in May.

Sigmund Freud- b. 1856

Ralph Waldo Emerson- b, 1803

Rachel Carson- b. 1907

T.H. White- b.1906

There is so much to celebrate. My birthday was this week and Mother's Day is usually the following week.

We spend the first 18 years of our lives saying, "I can't wait until I'm an adult!" As I get older, I don't pay much attention to my birthday number. I might be getting older, but I feel I'm getting wiser. As we grow, we learn how to navigate life. Everything we do is a learning experience. I've learned a lot, not only from school, but through friendships, marriage, and being a mother. Some of my most favorite teachers have been the many patients I have served over the years. I enjoy making connections with them and learning from their experiences.

Working with others is one of the greatest ways a person learns and grows. It is truly a gift.

Now, my birthday is Cinco de Mayo. So everyone celebrates my birthday, usually with a drink. I also shared my birthday with my great-grandmother, a very strong and intelligent woman. So my hope and wish for my birthday is to enjoy and listen to the people around me.

After celebrating my day with my family, I get to look forward to Mother's Day. I love Mother's Day because it allows everyone to appreciate our mothers and being a mother in every and any shape or form.

"There is no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one." ~ Jill Churchill

This quote means a lot to me. The day I first became a mother, and after I had each of my children, I told them. "I will make a million mistakes being your mother, and I will love you no matter what. We will do this together."

I can tell you for sure, I made close to a million mistakes having four daughters.

A child comes into this world without an instruction manual. So most of the time, as in our case, we were flying the seat of our pants.

We have enjoyed the ride. We are taking great joy in watching our children navigate adulthood.

Remember to take care of yourself and rest with a book.

Happy reading,

Kat
