My daily journaling includes reflecting on one thing I'm grateful for and one thing I'm thankful for that day. Some days it is very easy to find something for each reason, other days it is very hard, especially after a very long day at work. When I'm having a tough day, I try to focus on a positive interaction with a patient or someone I met during the day.
When thinking of what I am thankful for, my family is the first thing that fills my heart. This year, we added our first grandchild. We felt joy and then anxiety when they rushed our grandchild to the NICU after her birth. We are so thankful for all the doctors and nurses who took care of our granddaughter and her parents. Our proudest moment during this crisis was how our other daughters rallied around their sister to help her through. They put themselves in the rotation to travel out to stay with Princess#2 and her family.
For me personally, I am so blessed to have such wonderful writing friends. They supported me and kept me going during this difficult time. I cannot thank them enough for their love and encouragement to keep me writing.
I hope you have some things to be thankful for this month and they bring you joy.
