Did you know?

This is such a genuine statement because it is true! In my years of learning my craft, many people have inspired me to take a chance and write the stories I enjoy reading and seeing.
One of my oldest memories is watching Little House on the Prairie with my family. It came out in the early seventies. Now, for those of you who remember, there were only five networks and no remote controls for the television. Well, in my house, my Dad had a remote. “Hey, go change the channel and adjust the rabbit ears,” He would call one of the four of us sitting on the floor in front of the television.
Did you know that Laura Ingalls Wilder did not publish her acclaimed Little House on the Prairie series until after age 65 at the encouragement of her daughter, Rose. Knowing this has given me the courage to push through and enjoy my time during empty-nest status through writing.
The best part is that now I have life experiences, filled with some highs and lows, which have shaped my voice. Sharing my stories with you all has been one of the greatest pleasures of my writing career.
I am so excited to be part of this wonderful community of writers and readers. The support from everyone is the most amazing part of my writing journey. I have learned from so many of my writing friends and readers. One of my favorite contests has been naming characters for my books. I find readers have more imagination than I do.
Coming up in the next few months, I will run this contest for my next book in the Flames in Light Series, Bound by Vision.

If you are in Las Vegas, I will be at the Book Lovers Con at the Flamingo Hotel, March 26th – 29th.
Come on by, say hello, and meet some fabulous authors and readers.
Please be safe and take care of yourselves!
Hugs
Kat
